NLST Exhibition - Found at Forty Hall
North London Stitch and Textiles Exhibition - Found at Forty Hall
From the 9th to 23rd August 2025 - Thursday to Sunday - 11 am to 15 pm
Step into a rich tapestry of history reimagined through thread and textile. This unique exhibition by North London Stitch and Textiles showcases a series of contemporary artworks intricately inspired by the archaeological discoveries of Elsyng Palace, the once-majestic Tudor royal residence that stood within the grounds of Forty Hall Estate.
Each piece reflects an intimate conversation between past and present, where fragments of pottery, architectural remnants, and glimpses of courtly life are reinterpreted through stitch, fabric, and texture. The artists have drawn upon historical research, material culture, and creative exploration to breathe new life into the stories hidden beneath the soil.
Displayed throughout the museum, these artworks invite visitors to explore Elsyng Palace not only as a site of excavation but as a source of ongoing inspiration, celebrating craftsmanship, storytelling, and the enduring connection between heritage and contemporary art.
