Step Back In Time To Christmas Past At Forty Hall

Residents have the chance to step back in time and view past Christmases at Forty Hall courtesy of Enfield Council.
The ever popular Forty Hall by Candlelight tours, return to Forty Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 6.30pm, 7pm, 7.30pm and 8pm from December 5 and give visitors to the hall the opportunity to encounter Nicholas and Rebecca Rainton and their servants , including the cook as they prepare for a 17th Century Christmas.
Visitors on the 40 minute long tours can also relax and enjoy festive music and mulled wine at the Hall in Forty Hill, Enfield.
Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture Leisure, Youth and Localism, Cllr Bambos Charalambous, said: “This is a great chance for visitors to Forty Hall to step back in time and experience how Christmas was celebrated in years gone by.
“The contrast between today and how things were done in the seventeenth century is fascinating and striking and the candlelit tours of the hall show the magnificent building in a stunning new light, I’d urge anyone who is interested in coming along to book soon because tickets for this event disappear quickly.”
Tickets cost £10 for adults with concessions £8. There is a 10 per cent discount for online booking.
